Sunlight
It all begins with an idea.
We function best when we follow our circadian rhythm[i]. The sun’s energy effects our photosensitive organ which is our pineal gland or third eye. It works to keep our melatonin hormone in check, our timekeeper or pacesetter for the functioning of our human body.
We are programmed to be outdoors while the sun is up and home resting when it goes down. This is why melatonin is produced during the dark hours and stops upon optic exposure to daylight. It also plays an important role in countering infection, inflammation, and auto-immunity.[ii] It is important to get daylight in the morning to keep our pacesetter in check.
Consider where you are at and how you think you could practically bring change in your life. Write out your first step for change or short-term intention. This will be helpful to form an intentional practice and something to reflect on as you progress.
Can you think of how you can get sunlight early in the morning to bring harmony to your circadian rhythm?
